“This Report does more than document Eurospital’s role in the healthcare sector; it also outlines the direction we intend to pursue,” comments Michele Kropf, President and Chief Executive Officer of Eurospital. “Our growth is guided by ethics and care for our stakeholders – customers, suppliers, scientific partners, institutions, and communities – but above all for our employees, who contribute to value creation and are actively involved in corporate decision-making. I would like to thank everyone who makes this journey possible: the trust you place in us is what guides us every day.”
Historical continuity and ethical principles, scientific expertise, and innovation in healthcare: through this voluntary reporting initiative, Eurospital transparently illustrates how it generates economic, social, and environmental value, in accordance with the ESG dimensions identified as having the greatest impact on corporate performance: economic and governance responsibility, employee responsibility, environmental responsibility, social responsibility, and product responsibility.
Environmental Responsibility and Energy Efficiency
For several years, Eurospital has adopted an integrated approach to reducing electricity and natural gas consumption, while maintaining optimal production conditions. These efforts are complemented by initiatives aimed at reducing plastic consumption and promoting the use of more sustainable materials, reaffirming the company’s commitment to integrating environmental protection into its daily operations.
Initially installed in 2023 and subsequently expanded, Eurospital’s photovoltaic electricity self-generation system is now fully operational, with an installed capacity of 342 kWp.
Although the company’s electricity demand increased in 2025 compared with previous years, reaching 565,764 kWh, 60.7% of this demand was met through self-generated electricity, compared with 42% in 2024 and 30% in 2023.
Thanks to its photovoltaic system, Eurospital also generated 19% of its total energy requirements, including natural gas consumption, representing an increase from 12% in 2024.
Furthermore, part of the electricity generated by the system is supplied to the public grid. In 2025, the wider community benefited from 60,567 kWh of electricity, a substantial increase compared with previous years (6,846 kWh in 2023 and 14,863 kWh in 2024).
Another significant result for 2025 concerns the energy intensity indicator, which measures the efficiency with which the company uses energy in its operations, calculated as the ratio of total energy consumption to revenue.
This indicator decreased compared with 2024, reflecting an improvement in energy efficiency and demonstrating that Eurospital required less energy to generate the same unit of economic value.

Putting People First
At Eurospital, relationships with employees are built on trust, mutual respect, and active listening. These values translate into tangible initiatives aimed at promoting employment stability, professional development, and a safe working environment.
They also encompass social events and corporate volunteering activities designed to enhance employee well-being, strengthen dialogue, and encourage active participation in corporate life.
Employment stability has continued to improve, with the proportion of permanent employment contracts increasing from 84% in 2022 to 91% in 2025, alongside a corresponding reduction in fixed-term contracts.
Overall, Eurospital delivered 765 hours of training in 2025, an 11% increase compared with 2024. These programmes involved employees across all professional categories, with a particular focus on technical training and occupational health and safety.
Attentive to the needs of its stakeholders, Eurospital maintains open and collaborative relationships within an established network encompassing more than 20 organisations, including universities, research institutions, foundations, hospitals, cultural associations, and voluntary organisations.
In 2025, Eurospital’s corporate volunteering programme expanded significantly, engaging employees in social and environmental projects supporting four organisations operating in the Trieste area.
Employees dedicated a total of more than 400 hours to volunteering activities during working hours, more than double the amount recorded in 2024.
This achievement reflects the success of these initiatives and employees’ growing commitment to teamwork and supporting local communities.
Innovations for Better Living
Three Business Divisions, One Corporate Identity: Diagnostics, Pharmaceuticals, and Special Nutrition represent complementary and synergistic areas of expertise that reinforce Eurospital’s position as an internationally recognised company in the healthcare sector.
Through continuous investment across the entire value chain, Eurospital transforms scientific expertise and resources into innovative solutions that meet the highest quality and regulatory standards.
In 2025, Eurospital strengthened the international presence of its Diagnostics Division in Latin America, the Middle East, Turkey, and Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on diagnostic solutions for gastrointestinal diseases.
Commercial collaborations, strategic partnerships with medical and scientific institutions, and specialised technical and professional training programmes represent the key pillars of the company’s expansion into these markets.
Within the diagnostics sector, Eurospital is one of the few companies in Italy with a dedicated Research and Development (R&D) function. In 2025, this function accounted for 9% of the company’s workforce and absorbed 6% of the Diagnostics Division’s revenue, with more than 10 active research projects in Gastroenterology and Molecular Biology.
These strategic investments have contributed over the years to strengthening Eurospital’s international business and advancing medical and scientific progress in the field of in vitro diagnostics, also through collaborations with universities and healthcare institutions.
Within the Pharmaceutical Division, Eurospital combines scientific, regulatory, and commercial expertise to provide innovative solutions dedicated to improving people’s health.
Its portfolio includes pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, and food supplements designed to support healthcare professionals, pharmacists, and patients.
In 2025, Eurospital further expanded its Personal Care range, dedicated to the everyday well-being of adults and children, with the introduction of 10 new products.
The company also continued to consolidate established brands such as Haliborange and Anberries food supplements, while strengthening commercial partnerships for the distribution of growing brands, including Waterdrop® microdrinks.
The Special Nutrition Division, established in 2024, now offers a portfolio of more than 150 products across the Piaceri Mediterranei and Apromé brands. The portfolio continues to evolve in response to the increasingly diverse and growing needs of individuals requiring specialised dietary regimens.
The long-established and successful Piaceri Mediterranei range, offering food products specifically developed for individuals with gluten intolerance, recorded double-digit growth in 2025 compared with 2024.
This performance was supported by the launch of 30 new gluten-free products, further consolidating the brand’s position as the third-leading gluten-free food brand within specialised retail channels.
The new Apromé low-protein food range also continues to receive highly positive feedback from both the market and the medical and scientific community specialising in nutritional therapy.
Further product launches have already been planned, reaffirming Eurospital’s commitment to continued investment and innovation in this field.
Within the value chain, supplier selection also remains a strategic priority.
In 2025, Eurospital maintained its strong commitment to the Italian market, allocating 84% of its total procurement expenditure to qualified Italian suppliers, while simultaneously strengthening supplier monitoring activities through regular audits and periodic assessments.
